Getting Started

How do I enroll at Exploring Scholar?

Starting is simple. Call us at 416-306-2066 (English) or 647-210-8618 (Mandarin), or reach us through the contact form on our website. We'll schedule a free consultation to assess your child's current level, understand their goals, and recommend the right program. There's no pressure and no commitment required for the initial conversation.

Do you offer a free consultation before we commit?

Yes. Every new family starts with a free consultation. We use that time to understand your child's academic situation, answer your questions, and figure out whether group courses, one-on-one tutoring, or another format makes the most sense. We'd rather take the time to recommend the right fit than place a student in the wrong program.

How does Exploring Scholar match students with instructors?

We look at the student's subject, grade level, learning style, and specific goals before making a match. Our instructors specialize in particular subjects and grade levels, so placements are based on fit, not just availability. If something isn't working, we make adjustments.

Programs and Subjects

What grade levels does Exploring Scholar serve?

We serve students from Grade 1 through university. Group courses are available from Grades 5 to 12. One-on-one tutoring covers Grade 1 through university. OSSD credit courses are for Grades 9 to 12.

What subjects do you offer?

Mathematics at all levels (Grade 1 through AP Calculus BC), Science (Grades 7 to 12), Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English (all grades through AP and IB), Economics (AP and IB), Statistics (AP), and Computer Science. We also offer all Ontario OSSD high school credit courses.

What is the difference between group courses and one-on-one tutoring?

Group courses are structured small-class programs that follow a set curriculum and run on a seasonal schedule. They work well for students who want to get ahead of their school's pace in a class setting. One-on-one tutoring is fully personalized, with flexible scheduling and a plan built specifically around your child's goals. Many families use both.

What is a reach-ahead course?

A reach-ahead course covers material before a student's school introduces it. Students who have already seen the content when it first comes up in class have time to sit with it, ask questions, and genuinely understand it rather than learning it under test pressure. By the time an exam arrives, the material is not new anymore.
